GOOD NEWS!  Our local grocery store is offering free delivery within the community to Senior and disabled citizens who are homebound or weather bound.  You must order at least $25.00 worth of groceries to utilize this service.  The delivery days will be every Monday and Thursday from NOON TO 2:00p.m. unless other arrangements have been made.  Please call Highland Hometown Market at 442-3391.

We had a great November menu and December looks just as good.  Stop by and pick one up for your convenience in choosing some meals you would like to eat, but don’t want to cook.  Then, call 442-5550 to reserve your lunch by 9:30a.m. the day before  you wish to eat and we will welcome you with open arms.  The requirement for meals on wheels is that you be 60 or older.  Money does not matter.  We suggest a donation of $2.75 per meal, if possible.  We also to carry out meals.  We hope to see you soon.  We accept SNAP cards.

If  you need a ride for any purpose, please call Public Transportation at 785-985-2380.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  If your family is like my family there will be way too much food

So it will be divided up at the end of the day for whoever wants what.  Last  year we decided to do away with the traditional dinner and had deli sandwiches, chips and dip of all types plus desserts.  That didn’t go over well at all, however, we didn’t have many dishes to wash.  This  year we are once again beholding the great turkey, (and ham), as our main course  along with dressing, homemade hot rolls, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies AND snacks and desserts.  I feel miserable already.

While you are giving thanks to the Lord for all your blessings, please remember to pray for our troops who are fighting to protect our country from terrorists.  Also keep in your minds and hearts those who are going through tough times  with their health.  Others may have financial problems.  Keep the faith and smile even if it hurts. See you next week.
