Special Council Meeting - December 7, 2012

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

DECEMBER 7, 2012                                                                 8:00 A.M.

 

PRESENT:  Scott Huss, Kevin Lackey, Jerry Twombly, Lori Kelley.  Randy Snyder was absent.

ALSO PRESENT:  Dennis Lentz, Dennis Snyder, Bill Butrick, Kim Barber, Mike Goodman, David Diveley and Melanie Hollabaugh.

PRESIDING: Mayor Ken Stewart

PURPOSE: To discuss improvements of the sidewalk on the 200 block of West Main Street.

The meeting was called to order at 8:07 a.m. with a quorum present.

Mike Goodman and Kim Barber of Goodman Construction, explained to the Council the plans to fix the sidewalk in front of Highland Hardware.  The cost of that project is estimated at $7,700.  They informed the Council of the changes that also could be made to the sidewalk continuing down the street in front of City Hall.  Mayor Stewart asked if there is a way a base for a flag pole could be added to the new construction.  At this time Goodman Construction estimates the cost to continue the sidewalk at $7000.  Kevin Lackey moved to accept the bid of $7000 from Goodman Construction to finish the sidewalk in front of City Hall connecting to the new sidewalk to be installed in front of Highland Hardware.  Lori Kelley 2nd, motion carried 4-0. 

Mayor Stewart asked Goodman Construction to report back to the Council on what the added cost would be to install a base for a flag pole at the next Regular Council Meeting to be held on December 12, 2012. 

David Diveley mentioned that he would get ahold of the County to possibly haul away the old cement from the current sidewalk.

8:26 a.m.  Kevin Lackey moved to adjourn.  Lori Kelley 2nd, motion carried 4-0.
