Several of us attended Jim Beckwith’s retirement party at NEKAAA in Hiawatha on the 4th of November.   It was a lovely party with many in attendance.  We gave him a going away blueberry pie.  He and his wife plan to travel around the U.S.A. visiting children, especially the ones who live in the Southern part of the country this winter. We all wish him the best and happy travels wherever they take him.

I want to remind you the center reservations for the holidays are filling up fast.  If you wish to reserve our site for a family gathering, please call soon at 785-442-5550 and ask for Bev.

The Seniors will not be having a pot-luck supper for the winter season this year unless the group changes their minds.  Who knows what winter will bring.  We may have a very mild winter that will allow us to have this activity after all.

I hope you will join us soon for an enjoyable lunch at the center.  We have such a good time visiting and laughing.  We are putting a puzzle together in our spare time so come early and help put a piece or two or more in the puzzle and enjoy yourself.  We have full meal deals here for lunch which is served at NOON.  Please call by 9:30a.m. the day before you wish to eat, 442-5550.  We also do carryout meals and we accept SNAP cards,(replaces Vision cards).

Don’t forget, the only requirement to participate in the meals on wheels program for the $2.75 suggested donation

Is that you be 60 yrs old or older.

I hope  your upcoming week is a happy one filled with joy.  Thanksgiving is getting closer and closer.  A niece of mine is already getting online checking out the Black Friday sales.  We will be at the stores with bells on and a yawn or two. Take care of yourselves. Stay away from the flu and pneumonia or anyone who has either one.
