Our masquerade dance and party is over.  It was held in the Elwood Community Center last Thursday.  We had a great time.  We had lots of raffle prizes to give away and there were snacks and beverages galore.  This was the biggest group we ever had.  We had a D.J. who played old rock and roll and old country.  I personally would like to thank the Elwood Student Council for dancing so willingly with everyone.  We had a line dance or two, did the bunny hop and the hokey pokey to all types of music.  It was do much fun.  Highland citizens definitely won lots of the prizes.  Eight of the Christmas statues were won  by Bob Jeffers, Frances Collins, Verna Parker, Bob Evans, Sam Dunn, Dorothy Diveley, Russell Davis and Mike Batchelder.  We brought home three popcorn tins that were won by Jeanne Hargis, Leola Winters and Don Utz.  Bettie Fritch won the 5 free meals and Gerald Kentzler was the King of the party.  I can hardly wait to see what we do next year.
